A Golden Gate man is accused of robbing a former classmate at gunpoint in front of the man's home early Wednesday, according to an arrest report.

Around 12:15 a.m., the victim told Collier deputies he noticed a black SUV in front of his home on the 4500 block of 32nd Avenue Southwest and went outside, thinking it was his brother. The victim said he tried to get back inside after noticing it was a stranger, but the passenger had already gotten out of the vehicle and threw him to the ground.

The man brandished a handgun and demanded the victim give him all his money, but the victim said he only had his cellphone on him. According to the victim, the man reached into his pocket and grabbed the cellphone.

The victim told deputies he recognized the man as Dalton Ryan, whom he had gone to high school with.

Ryan, 19, of the 2800 block of 47th Avenue Southwest, faces an armed robbery charge.
