Corey Perrine/Staff Naples' Manny Morgan (27) stiff arms Miami Central's Dalvin Cook (4, left) before being pushed out of bounds Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 at Staver Field. The two football teams faced off in class 6A state semifinal action. Miami Central muscled their way past Naples 48-33.

After their most successful seasons in years, Immokalee and Naples had strong showings on the respective Class 5A and 6A all-state high school football teams.

Seven players were selected to the Associated Press 5A team from state runner-up Immokalee, three of them on the first team. Five players made the 6A team from Naples, a regional champion, with two on the first team.

Three of the 12 players selected for 5A’s first team defense were from Immokalee. Defensive lineman Deadrin Senat and twin brothers Mackenro Alexander (linebacker) and Mackensie Alexander (defensive back) were selected. All three are seniors.

Mackenro Alexander set the school’s single-season record with 154 tackles. He also had 4.5 sacks and five interceptions and was named the Daily News Defensive Player of the Year. Mackensie Alexander, ranked the sixth-best senior in the nation by ESPN, had four interceptions. Senat was second on the team with 89 tackles.

In 6A, Naples senior Manny Morgan was named a first-team running back after rushing for 2,069 yards and 25 touchdowns. Senior offensive lineman Dan Gallman also made the first team after helping Naples rush for 303 yards a game.

Immkoalee junior receiver J.C. Jackson made the 5A second team. The Florida State recruit led the Indans with 46 receptions for 813 yards and seven touchdowns.

Naples junior Kilton Anderson is the 6A second team quarterback. Anderson accounted for 2,127 yards and 45 touchdowns combined rushing and passing. Eagles linebacker Brian Donnelly (146 tackles, six sacks) also made the second team.

Barron Collier senior Mike Heuerman, committed to Notre Dame as a tight end, made the 6A second team as a defensive lineman after leading the team in sacks. South Fort Myers senior Jayron Kearse, committed to Clemson, was named to the second team offense as a utility player.

Estero running back Eric McFadden (1,469 yards, 19 touchdowns) and Immokalee defensive back Xavier Richardson (seven interceptions) made the 5A third team.

Naples defensive back Jules Dornevil and Barron Collier linebacker Jake Berman were 6A honorable mention. Senior quarterback Tshumbi Johnson and junior running back D’Ernest Johnson, who are brothers, were honorable mention for Immokalee in 5A.
