A temporary bridge has been installed at 23rd Street Southwest over the Golden Gate main canal in order to provide a detour for traffic while the existing White Boulevard bridge is removed and replaced.
The temporary bridge is expected to be opened to traffic for the detour around midday on Monday, Jan. 7. A temporary traffic signal has been installed at Golden Gate Boulevard and 23rd Street Southwest to assist with the detoured traffic while the construction work progresses over the next six or seven months. Additional pavement markings, temporary speed humps and signage will be in place when the temporary bridge is opened to traffic to assist drivers traveling the area.
The speed limit in the vicinity of the work is 30 mph. Drivers are urged to stay alert and use caution.
