NAPLES — It's no surprise that Kenny Perry is coming back to defend his title at The ACE Group Classic from Feb. 12-17 at TwinEagles Club in North Naples. The Champions Tour event did announce Tuesday that it as looking for volunteers, stating there are still open positions on a variety of committees.
Each volunteer receives an official tournament golf shirt, headwear, volunteer badge valid for weeklong tournament access, four weekly grounds badges, and complimentary lunch each day through the support of Fifth Third Bank.
Perry has made a habit of winning in Naples. He teamed with Sean O'Hair last month to win the Franklin Templeton Shootout. It was the third time with the third different partner that Perry had won the PGA Tour event at Tiburon.
"Kenny has clearly had a lot of success in Naples ... so we're excited to have him return," tournament director Lesley Baker said. "The combination of great crowds and great weather with the perfect course conditions at TwinEagles have always been big draws for the Tour players."
The tournament has a new on-site parking option. A limited supply of VIP Valet Parking Passes give purchasers a spot at the TwinEagles Clubhouse. Public and handicap parking for Friday, Feb. 15, Saturday, Feb. 16, and Sunday, Feb. 17 — the three competition rounds — will be at the Collier County Fairgrounds for $7 (or $5 in advance) with a complimentary, 30-minute shuttle to and from TwinEagles.
The VIP weekly pass is $115, or the VIP daily pass is $45 per day. Those passes are only available at the PGA Tour Superstore, located on U.S. 41 North, west of the Coastland Center mall, or at www.acegroupclassic.com.
Parking for Tuesday through Thursday of tournament week will be on-site at TwinEagles, but still will require a shuttle ride to the main tournament entrance.
Naples Grande Golf Schools: Director of instruction Mark Durland and Dr. Shannon Reece are teaming together for an interactive golf school on Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Naples Grande driving range.
The fee is $149 per student and limited to the first 12 students. Reece is a sports psychologist and founder of Training for Optimal Performance, and studied under Dr. Bob Rotella.
Durland and instructor Sara Dickson will have a couples school on Thursday, Jan. 31 and Friday, Feb. 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $1,200 per couple. Contact 784-2208 or email@example.com.
Parkinson's tournament: Plantation Golf & Country Club in Fort Myers will host a Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research tournament on Thursday.

Eagle Lakes clinics: Men's clinics start today, for eight weeks, $25 per person, from 10 a.m. to noon. Ladies clinics are Mondays from 10 a.m. to noon, $25 per person for eight weeks.
Junior clinics are Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon, $20 per person for eight weeks. The club also is starting a junior program Saturday mornings for kids who can't afford to buy clubs. They can receive donated clubs for $8 to cover the cost of the grip and install.
