A Marco Island man is accused of leaving a neighbor's party, then returning to the party-thrower's unattended condo to steal bottles of liquor and a key to a BMW.
The victim told police he was a new condo owner at Sunset House North, in the 200 block of Seaview Court, and decided to have a social gathering Monday night to meet other people in the building. At the party, one of the guests, Brian Paul Tucker, 36, had too much to drink and was asked to leave after causing a disturbance, according to an arrest report.
After the party, the condo owner left his unit unlocked while he had dinner. When he returned, he noticed a key to his BMW and bottles of Makers Mark, blueberry Stoli and Captain Morgan's were missing.
The next day, police tracked down Tucker, who was identified as a suspect, and found the key inside a pot of water in his sink. Tucker told officers he thought there might be GPS inside the key and said he did not want to be tracked, according to an arrest report. He could not remember what happened to the liquor.
Tucker faces charges of burglary and grand theft.
