2 drivers seriously injured in crash on Immokalee Road in Estates

— Two drivers were seriously injured Wednesday night in a three-vehicle crash at Immokalee Road and Wilson Boulevard in Golden Gate Estates.

Traveling east in the inside lane of Immokalee Road about 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, a 1994 Chevy Astro van driven by Jason Baldwin, 33, of Naples, struck the rear of a pickup truck stopped at the traffic light at Wilson Boulevard, pushing it into a minivan also stopped at the light. Baldwin was cited for careless driving, according to Florida Highway Patrol reports.

Baldwin and the driver of the first car hit, Chad Allen Yarnell, 32, of Golden Gate Estates, were seriously injured in the crash. Baldwin was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, and Yarnell was take to Physicians Regional Medical Center in Naples, the FHP reports.

Sonia A. Romero, the driver of the third vehicle, was not injured in the crash. Romero, 59, of Golden Gate Estates, was driving a 1997 Mercury Villager minivan. Yarnell was driving a 1994 GMC Sierra pickup. All drivers were wearing seat belts, the FHP reports.
