Naples High School will have a "Red Out" at its home boys basketball game on Friday against Estero at 7 p.m.
Naples High students will wear T-shirts to raise awareness of heart disease, the No. 1 killer of Americans. The event honors the memory of Kyle Fernstrom, a Naples High student who served as the basketball team's manager from 2003-05. Fernstrom died of cardiovascular disease on Feb. 8, 2005.
A total of 250 red T-shirts are being sold for $5 by the basketball team in advance of the game. "Red Out" T-shirts also will be available for purchase on the night of the game. In addition, those who purchase a T-shirt will get free admission into the game. All proceeds benefit the American Heart Association.
