Severe weather advisory for Collier until 3:30 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a weather advisory for western Collier County until 3:30 p.m. for the development of funnel clouds.

National Weather Service meteorologists detected a strong thunderstorm four miles north of Copeland and moving northwest at 25 mph.

The storm will affect Deep Lake, Fakahatchee Strand State Preserve, Rock Island, Intersection Alligator Alley and SR 29, Picayune Strand State Forest, I-75 and Everglades Blvd. and surrounding communities.
