Letter to the Editor: Don’t close the gates

We have been residents on Marco Island since 1998 and witnessed many positive changes and improvements. With that in mind, I cannot understand why you would be against a lovely garden environment and nonintrusive miniature course to be enjoyed by the local people and visitors a well.

Our local stores and restaurants would also benefit by the influx of our visitors. This is an asset for Marco Island, hotels, gift stores, clothing stores and so on. We are no longer the isolated island that was here when some of you naysayers arrived or any of you who have arrived here and now want to close the gates after you.

Francis,

I do not think anyone is against a little, beautiful environment which could be enjoyed by residents and visitors.

It has to do with the same rules and regulations called "deed restrictions" which prevents someone putting up a trailer home on the lot near you.

These laws are not there for some of us to obey and others to ignore at will.
