Weekend benefits: For Adamski family; Wildland Firefighters and Disco Dave fundraiser
Unfortunately tragedy can come on the heels of great celebration and joy at times; such was the case for the Corey Adamski family, who while on their way home from a July 4th picnic with his two daughters and wife Kristina, who was also 8 months pregnant, found the joy of the holiday turned into tragedy when the was in a car accident. The entire family were taken to Lee Memorial Hospital. The unborn child passed away.
The Marco Island Fire/Rescue Foundation will be holding a “boot drop” at the fire station on the corner of Bald Eagle and San Marco Road from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., Saturday, July 20 to benefit the family. Checks may be made out the Adamski Family Relief Fund and dropped in the boot along with cash.
Wildland Firefighters Chili Cook-Off;
There will be a Wildland Firefighters Chili Cook-Off benefit from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., Saturday, July 20, at Golden Gate Fire Department, 14575 Collier Boulevard, Naples, to help the families of the 19 Granite Mountain Hotshot Firefighters of Arizona.
Disco Dave fundraiser
The Disco Dave Cancer Fundraiser is Saturday, July 20 at the Flamingo at Lely Resort. Funds raised go to Dave Bierbauer.
Entry fee is $80 a person for the scramble with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Lunch and awards will follow at Sam Snead’s. There will be 50-50 raffle and raffle prizes.
