Iberia Marco presents 'Myths and Facts about Breast Cancer'

Iberia Bank and Physicians Regional Healthcare System continue the Health Plus Lecture Series with the topic of “Myths and Facts about Breast Cancer” on Thursday, Aug. 1, at the Iberia branch located at 605 Bald Eagle Drive on Marco Island. A welcome reception will begin at 6 p.m. followed by the formal presentation at 6:30 p.m. Dr. Sharla Gayle Patterson, M.D., MBA, FACS, will provide answers and dispel myths, replacing them with the truth about detection, BRCA testing, surgical options and treatment.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, one in eight women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, and breast cancer is the second highest leading cause of death among American women. Many advances have been made in the detection and treatment of breast cancer, but there are also many misperceptions about this type of cancer.

This free lecture is open to the public, however, seating is limited. Call (239) 403-5169 to make a reservation.
