We are back into a fairly typical Southwest Florida summertime storm pattern. Light easterly winds start the day, and will run up against the afternoon sea breeze. There will be scattered showers and storms popping up through the afternoon and evening hours. These storms will again bring heavy downpours, gusty winds and plenty of thunder and lightning.
After starting in the mid 70s this morning, temperatures will warm into the low to mid 90s this afternoon. With plenty of humidity, the heat index will climb to the 100- to 105--degree range. Highs will reach into the lower 90s all week.
For Wednesday, we'll still see our fairly typical pattern. By Thursday, there will be a change. The remnants of Tropical Storm Dorian will bring numerous tropical downpours for Thursday and into Friday.
