Severe weather advisory for Collier until 4:30 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a weather advisory for western Collier County until 4:30 p.m. for frequent to excessive lightning and gusty winds of 45 to 55 mph.

National Weather Service meteorologists detected a strong thunderstorm four miles southeast of Bonita Springs and is moving northwest at 10 mph.

The storm will affect Quail Creek Estates, Vanderbilt Beach and surrounding communities.
