Naples police: 8 ducklings killed, put in plastic bag

Eight ducklings were found dead in a plastic bag during an animal cruelty investigation Monday at a Naples apartment complex, police said.

Witnesses told police they saw a man kill several ducks with a broom, put them in a bag and set them by a Dumpster near the 300 block of 10th Street North. A Naples police officer located the bag with eight dead ducklings inside.

No arrest was made, and the witnesses declined to give statements out of fear of the suspect, police said.

Police unsuccessfully tried to make contact with the suspect, an incident report said. The property manager said the suspect is the boyfriend of a person leasing an apartment, the report said.
