Severe weather advisory for Collier until 5:30 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a weather advisory for southwestern Collier County until 5:30 p.m. for frequent to excessive lightning and gusty winds of 45 to 55 mph.

National Weather Service meteorologists detected a line of strong thunderstorms extending from four miles northwest of Golden Gate Estates to 6 miles northeast of Cape Romano moving northwest at 15 mph.

The storm will affect west toll gate on Alligator Alley, Goodland, Fiddlers Creek, Belle Meade, East Naples and surrounding communities.
