The first weekend in March will be a pretty unusual one for Southwest Florida standards; it's going to be chilly, windy, cloudy, and even rainy at times.
Saturday begins with cloudy skies and temperatures in the 50s, and because of cloud cover, temperatures will be very slow to rise through the day. Daytime highs will struggle to climb out of the 50s, and most locations will likely only see peak temperatures in the low to mid 60s.
Keep in mind, however, temperatures will feel a bit cooler than what the thermometer might tell us because northerly winds will be rather stiff through the weekend with gusts up to 25 mph. To further complicate the forecast, there's even the chance for a few light showers during the day as a disturbance heads our way from the Gulf of Mexico.
Despite some afternoon sunshine, Sunday will be another chilly one with highs only reaching the low to mid 60s.Temperatures will be at their lowest point Sunday night into Monday morning as skies start to clear and winds relax. Most of us across the urban corridor will cool into the low 40s with inland locations dipping into the mid 30s by early Monday morning.
