Callers to the Collier County Sheriff's Office and Daily News readers have reported earthquake-like effects felt Sunday morning in Collier County, though no nearby earthquakes have officially been documented as of noon.
A sheriff's dispatcher said deputies have received a few calls, though the source of the shaking wasn't known. Several Daily News callers and readers have inquired about shaking Sunday. JuLynn Mott, a Huntington Lakes resident in North Naples, said glass on her second-floor home rattled at about 10:45 a.m.
"All of the sudden the whole entire panel of the sliding door from my living room to lanai started shaking," Mott said. The effects were felt for about a minute, she said.
The U.S. Geological Survey map doesn't have any reported nearby earthquakes. The closest reported earthquakes as of noon were a small Saturday quake in central Alabama and a handful of quakes early Sunday near the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.
NBC-2 reported in late February that fighter jet training over the Gulf was creating sonic booms felt in Southwest Florida. The training was expected to be wrapped up this week, the station reported.
Officials at Naval Air Station Key West, the home of the fighter jets, couldn't be reached Sunday afternoon.

It's a sonic boom. We are near the path of the training run from the south up to Avon Park bombing range.
