Deputies look for suspect who stabbed man in North Naples

Collier County sheriff’s deputies are looking for the person who stabbed a 20-year-old man early Sunday in Naples Manor.

The victim told detectives he was outside of his friend’s home at 5454 Sholtz St. around 1 a.m. when they heard a noise from across the street. The two looked up and saw a woman by the mailbox, according to an incident report.

A man across the street then asked the victim if he was looking at the woman. The victim said no, but the man across the street came over wanting to fight, reports said.

The victim was stabbed several times, although reports did not say where on his body. The victim’s friend drove him to Physicians Regional Hospital at 8300 Collier Blvd., where he was treated for serious injuries.

Reports said deputies issued a BOLO — “be on the lookout” — for someone whose name was redacted, presumably the suspect. As of Monday, no one had been arrested in connection with the stabbing.
