The median price of single-family homes in Lee County increased by nearly 22 percent in January.
The price was $140,000, an increase from the median price of $114,900 in January 2012. The median is the price at which half the homes sell for more and half for less.
Meanwhile, the rate of single-family home sales decreased by 12 percent, with 759 units sold in January compared with 864 a year earlier, the Realtor Association of Greater Fort Myers and the Beach recently reported.
Traditional sales — those that are neither bank-owned nor short sales — made up 66 percent of all transactions in January.
Presently, 57 is the average number of days a Lee single-family home is on the market and properties are selling at nearly 94 percent the asking price.
Alico announces new board
Fort Myers-based Alico Inc. has elected JD Alexander, Thomas H. McAuley, Charles L. Palmer, Ramon A. Rodriguez, John D. Rood, Robert J. Viguet Jr., Gordon Walker, Adam D. Compton and Dykes Everett to serve as its board of directors.
Rodriguez was elected chairman. Elected as corporate officers were Alexander (president/CEO); Ken Smith (executive vice president/chief operating officer); W. Mark Humphrey (senior vice president, chief financial officer and assistant secretary); Steven C. Lewis (treasurer); and A. Denise Plair (corporate secretary).
Brandon Box promoted at IberiaBank
IberiaBank has promoted Brandon Box to vice president, commercial relationship manager, for the Naples market.
Box, who joined IberiaBank in 2008 as a graduate intern, received his Master’s in Business Administration Degree from Louisiana State University. He eventually joined the company full-time as a credit analyst before becoming a commercial relationship manager.
