UPDATE: Interstate 75 has reopened following a crash around 1 p.m. Florida Highway Patrol is reporting that the roadway is now clear.
The southbound lane of Interstate 75 is closed at milemarker 110 – near the Immokalee Road exit – after a pick-up truck crashed into a tree, according to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.
The southbound entrance to the highway from Immokalee road is currently shut down.
The road will remain closed while a medical helicopter lands for a trauma alert, a Florida Highway Patrol dispatcher said.
The crash occurred around 1 p.m.
No further information is available from law enforcement at this time.
