An East Naples couple is accused of stealing seven chainsaws and a leaf blower from a Naples Park home.

Around 5:15 a.m. Tuesday, a resident at 6600 Trail Blvd. heard a loud bang, went out to his garage and saw a man in a camouflage shirt. The stranger pushed him down and took off running, according to an arrest report.

The victim told detectives that seven chainsaws and a leaf blower, each worth $300 to $350, were stolen from his home.

Through an investigation, Christopher Ryan Flanders, 26, was identified as a suspect. Flanders’ girlfriend, Anna Marie Hofacre, 29, later told deputies she had driven Flanders around that morning but drove off after seeing him run from the Trail Boulevard home.

Flanders told detectives he didn’t have money for formula for the couple’s baby because he had not been paid by the victim. The exact relationship between Flanders and the victim was unclear from reports.

Flanders, of the 2900 block of Estey Avenue, faces charges of burglary with battery and grand theft. Hofacre, of the same address, faces charges of burglary and grand theft.
