RSW flights to, from N.Y. and D.C. canceled because of snowstorm

Dania Maxwell/Staff Many flights were canceled for travelers heading to areas of the Northeast and New England due to a winter storm at Southwest Florida International Airport on Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 in Fort Myers, Fla.

Eight flights at Southwest Florida International Airport were canceled today because of northern storms.

Arriving flights canceled were AirTran flight 597 from Washington, D.C., at 10:34 a.m. today; US Airways flight 1259 from D.C. at 11:19 a.m.; US Airways flight 1265 from D.C. at 1:20 p.m.; and Delta flight 1508 from New York's JFK airport at 7:39 p.m. today.

Departures canceled were US Air flight 1258 to D.C. at noon; Delta flight 1509 to New York's JFK at noon; US Air flight 1266 to D.C. at 2:05 p.m. and Delta flight 1552 to New York's LaGuardia airport at 3:50 p.m.
