Jonathan Ellis Ross, 30, faces a grand theft charge.

The manager of a North Naples department store is accused of stealing nearly $12,000 from the store so he could pay to prevent his girlfriend’s vehicle from being repossessed.

Jonathan Ellis Ross, 30, of the 1200 block of Wildwood Lakes Boulevard, East Naples, is facing a grand theft charge.

Ross, an operations manager at the Bealls department store at U.S. 41 North and Old 41 Road, verified a $11,962 bank deposit on March 3. He then left the store without recording the deposit in a log and failed to take it to the bank, an arrest report said.

Instead, Collier County sheriff’s deputies say he took $1,300 from the deposit to pay an outstanding title loan on his girlfriend’s vehicle to prevent it from being repossessed.
