Collier County sheriff’s deputies arrested a Golden Gate Estates man Wednesday after they say he broke into a neighbor’s home and stole a gun and jewelry.
Erik Michael Ducharme, 32, of the 4500 block of 40th Street Northeast, is facing charges of grand theft and armed burglary.
On March 1, one of Ducharme’s neighbors called the Collier County Sheriff’s Office to report that someone had broken into his home a shotgun, jewelry, several watches and a wooden watch case, according to an arrest report.
Detectives located surveillance footage of the burglary and compared it to video provided by the victim of Ducharme wearing the same clothing as the burglar, reports said.
When detectives made contact with Ducharme, he denied any involvement. Ducharme has a long arrest record for drugs and theft charges.
