ECHL: Everblades double up Komets, 6-3, to extend win streak

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — The Florida Everblades extended their winning streak to three games with a 6-3 victory Friday night over the Fort Wayne Komets Friday night at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.

Corey Trivino and Mike Ratchuk paced the Everblades with three-point each.

Ratchuk gave the Everblades a 2-goal lead late in the second period, when he tipped a Charles Landry shot from the point, and steered the puck into back of the net to put the Blades ahead 3-1 after two periods.

Florida kept the momentum going in the third, when Mathieu Roy fed a pass to Trivino at the right wing circle. Trivino skated to the top of the crease, and switched the backhand and slipped the puck under the left pad of Komets goalie Jeff Deslauriers to put the score at 4-1.

Jesse Deckert earned his second win just his second pro start stopping 30 of 33 shots faced. Deslauriers takes the loss allowing five goals on 36 shots faced in the game.

The two teams meet again tonight with a 7:35 start time.

The Everblades next home game is Wednesday, March 13 against the South Carolina Stingrays.
