Firefighters put out brush fire near Golden Gate High School

Update:

Firefighters have put out a small brush fire near Golden Gate High School.

The fire reached about a tenth of an acre, according to Brandon Bunting, a battalion chief with the Golden Gate Fire Control and Rescue District. The fire was on private property and did not cause any damage, he said.

Earlier:

NAPLES - A slow-moving brush fire has broken out near Golden Gate High School. The flames are between the school and SW 32nd Avenue, along the canal.

Firefighters say the fire has been difficult to access because of the thick brush and the canal, but that it isn't threatening any homes or the school.
