A Pine Ridge Middle School teacher was arrested Thursday amid accusations that he solicited a 15-year-old girl over Facebook.

Clint G. Rickelmann, 37, of the 200 block of Quail Forest Boulevard, East Naples, is facing three counts of felony computer solicitation of a child.

The victim alerted authorities in early March that she had received a private Facebook message from Rickelmann, according to a highly-redacted incident report. The victim said she stopped sending Rickelmann messages “because she thought it was weird.”

Details about the content of the messages were redacted from reports.

A youth relations deputy notified an assistant school principal and the girl’s father about the messages.

It was not immediately clear how Rickelmann, who previously taught physics at Palmetto Ridge High School, knew the teen. Attempts to reach him for comment Friday were unsuccessful.

Rickelmann was arrested on a warrant Thursday evening at his home. He has since posted a $30,000 bond and was released from jail.

“It is appropriate to say that the District continues to work cooperatively in partnership with the Sheriff’s Office. Mr. Rickelmann has been reassigned to the Administrative Center,” the school district said in a statement.
