The 5th Annual Marco Island Seafood Festival will be held on Saturday March 23 and Sunday, March 24 at Veterans’ Park on Marco Island. Admission is $6; children under 12 get in free.
The Marco Island Seafood Festival is coordinated by Marco Island Rotary Sunrise and Noontime Clubs, the Kiwanis Club of Marco Island, Fresh from Florida Gulf Seafood, and the event’s title sponsor Waste Management, Inc. of Florida. Proceeds from the festival benefit local and international humanitarian programs sponsored by the Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs.
More than 10,000 visitors from across South Florida are expected to attend the Marco Island Seafood Festival which will host over 60 arts and crafts vendors, special kid’s zone activities, music including the popular Landsharks, as well as a variety of fresh seafood stone crab, shrimp chowder and other Floridian favorites. Guests are invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the musical performances throughout the day, but coolers and pets are prohibited.
The Marco Island Seafood Festival is joining with Waste Management in a ZERO Waste Challenge. Recycling stations will be setup throughout the venue for guests and vendors to recycle beverage containers, papers, and cardboard materials. Festival attendees can take part in the ZERO Waste Challenge by taking a picture of themselves recycling and emailing the photo with contact information to cepperso@wm.comfor a chance to win a “Think Green Give-away Prize.”
