A Bonita Springs man was arrested early Sunday in Naples following accusations that he cut another man’s head with a knife.
Naples police said they found the victim, a Louisiana man, sitting on the 600 block of Fifth Avenue South with a wound on his head. Witnesses said the victim had been in a fight with a shirtless man, who had something in his hand.
Police later found the suspect, 22-year-old Michael Stephen Cantasano, at the intersection of Fifth Avenue South and Eighth Street South. He threw a folding knife at officers, according to an arrest report.
The victim was taken to NCH Downtown Naples Hospital, and Cantasano was taken to the Naples Jail Center.
Cantasano, of the 23600 block of Walden Center Drive, was being held on a $10,000 bond on a felony charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
