The Marco Island Charter Middle School track team is looking ahead to April 6 when it will compete in the Collier County South qualifying meet at Lely High School.
Coach Roger Raymond expects his team to be ready.
“With schools varying on when it took Easter break, the schedule has not gone smoothly,” he said. “At times (like last week) we ran two meets in two days.”
Those who qualify compete again with the North track qualifiers in the championship meet on April 13 at Golden Gate.
“We have some very capable performers on the boys and girls teams,” he said. “We need to get as many kids as we can past the qualifying events to give us depth for the championship.”
