An East Naples man is accused of stealing a TV from a Wal-Mart on Sunday, then returning to the same store Monday to swipe another one.

On Monday around 3 p.m., loss prevention employees at the Wal-Mart at 6650 Collier Blvd. noticed Thomas Raymond Ruggiero, 39, select a 46-inch TV and begin to walk toward the door, according to an arrest report. The employees immediately recognized him as a man who had stolen a 39-inch TV the day before, deputies reported.

After Ruggiero walked past the exit without paying for the TV, the employees approached him and escorted him back to the security office. Ruggiero then pushed them both and grabbed one employee by the throat, reports said.

Ruggiero, of the 11400 block of Whistlers Cove Circle, faces charges of grand theft, retail theft over $300, battery and resisting an officer in the recovery of stolen property.

As of Tuesday, he remained at the Naples Jail Center in lieu of bonds totaling $12,000.
