Blaze near school under control

The 3-acre brush fire is under control and fully contained, said a Golden Gate battalion chief.

Firefighters are working to put out a brush fire near Calusa Park Elementary School.

Neither the school nor nearby homes were threatened as of 9:15 p.m., according to Capt. Sean Hunt of East Naples Fire Control and Rescue District. The Golden Gate Fire Control and Rescue District is the lead agency on the fire, although they are being assisted by East Naples and the Florida Forest Service.

The fire was reported to East Naples as about an acre, Hunt said.
