In addition, Kevin J. “Seamus” Hasson, the founder and president emeritus of The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, will be honored with an honorary doctorate during the commencement ceremonies.
“Our graduates are very fortunate to have our state’s chief executive address them,” Towey said. “They also will enjoy having Seamus Hasson as part of their graduating class, for he has placed his Catholic faith in the service of protecting religious liberty and the right of conscience.”
Ave Maria’s ninth commencement exercises will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 4, at the Golisano Fieldhouse on the campus in eastern Collier County.
An expected 159 undergraduate and 15 graduate students will receive degrees.
