A fundraiser Saturday will benefit a local swamp buggy racer who was injured in January during a rollover crash in East Naples.

Glenn Chesser nearly lost his left hand after flipping his bright-orange swamp buggy, “Dats On,” during a preliminary heat at Florida Sports Park.

His family and fellow racers will host the charity event from 4 p.m. to midnight Saturday at the sports park. All the proceeds will go to Chesser's medical expenses, which are now at $250,000.

The event will include food, live bands a bounce house for the kids and other family fun. Meal plates will be $8 for adults and $6 for children.

The fundraiser features auctions, including a gun auction and 50-50 raffle. Prizes include numerous restaurant certificates.
