We have one more day of unsettled weather across Southwest Florida before things start to settle down — just in time for the weekend.
The first concern this morning will be for low visibility as areas of thick fog develop, particularly for spots close to Interstate 75 and deeper inland. The fog may be thick enough to drop visibilities near zero, so take some extra time this morning if you're out and about. The Florida Highway Patrol has issued a fog advisory this morning for mile marker 69 on I-75’s Alligator Alley.
Once the fog lifts away by 8 or 9 a.m., we should be left with some patchy clouds and perhaps a few rays of sunshine from mid to late morning. However, the atmosphere remains unsettled again today, which will set the stage for another round of rain with the prime time coming from midday through this evening. Today's rain will likely be more scattered in nature compared to the widespread rain we saw the last couple days, but rain probabilities will stay close to 60 percent.
Daytime temperatures will only reach the low to mid 80s today with a considerable amount of clouds around. Our sky will start to clear this evening as temperatures drop into the low to mid 60s by Saturday morning. Saturday should deliver a lot more sunshine with only a few spotty showers expected during the afternoon, but rain chances will be significantly lower than the previous few days.
