— A couple found a dead Burmese python on Keewaydin Island in Naples over the weekend.

Lisa and Johnny PerMar were walking along the beach when the couple's Chihuahua, who they say is practically blind, spotted the reptile predator, estimated to be 6 feet long.

Experts said it's the first snake of its size to be found in that area. It's not clear how the snake got there, but it's possible it swam, according to experts.

Florida wildlife officials ask anyone who sees a Burmese python to call the exotic species hotline at 1-888-483-4861.
