After several days of onshore winds, Southwest Florida weather returns to a typical pattern for late summer.
Wednesday will start with sunshine, warmth and temperatures in the middle 70s. Through the afternoon, clouds will begin to build and scattered showers and storms will make their way to our side of the state. Before the rain arrives, expect daytime highs to climb into the lower 90s with heat index values a few points higher.
Tonight, a few downpours will linger near the coastline before any leftover activity pushes out over the Gulf. Temperatures will settle into the middle 70s by morning.
