TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has scheduled a news conference after emails and text messages revealed his administration may have closed highway lanes to exact political retribution.

The governor will answer questions at the Statehouse at 11 a.m. Thursday.

Christie issued a statement Wednesday saying he was "outraged and deeply saddened" by the revelations. He said he was misled by a key aide and he denied involvement.

The revelations thrust a regional transportation issue into the national political spotlight. They raise new questions about the prospective Republican presidential candidate's leadership on the eve of his a second term designed to jumpstart his road to the White House.

I cannot believe that many in the GOP actually believe that Christie even has the slightest chance of winning a presidential election.

Christie is a 'big mouth' and a 'bully'; draped with the window dressing of 'god and country'; the usual stuff which impresses those who can't reason past their 'goose pimples' every time they hear "God bless America' played at Yankee Stadium.

Christie will join the long list of 'holy loosers'; like Palin, Bachmann, and McCain, Huckabee and Paul.

Abortion, contraception, religion, Women and Gay rights will sink Christie just as it did the traditionalists who came before him.

It's only a matter of time before he begins opening his MOUTH.

>>> Chris Christie is just another government teat-sucking bully like Obama Epiphanes or Kinnock Biden.

>>> To associate Ron or Rand Paul with those others is truly perverse, however.

>>> Libertarian policy is to subtract government coercion from your life. On issues such as "Abortion, contraception, religion, Women and Gay rights", they remain philosophically totally agnostic....

At least Christie fired the person responsible for the lane closures, had this person worked for Obama they would have got a promotion.

Christie is not cleared. If someone on my staff created a deceitful act, it becomes a reflection of my company, of me, of our team. Innocent or not, I am responsible for the behavior of my staff. I'm afraid Chris, the stain will never go away. It's human nature to forgive but not forget. That said, his election chances remain intact assuming nothing new contradicts what seemed like a sincere press conference. Christie took full responsibility. That seems new to me in American politics these days.

Benghazi has already been investigated; and given the fact that American Consulates are constantly getting threats; and that there have been over thirty attacks over the last 50 years; Benghazi comes under the heading of CHIT HAPPENS; just like:

The U-2 incident
Gulf of Tonkin incident
The Battle of the Bulge
The USS Indianapolis
Disaster at Tarawa
The Lusitania
Friendly fire
The Beirut 1983 bombing of the Marine Barracks
Halsey steering the fleet into a typhoon
-and many, many more

Other then that: In the grand scheme of things; except for a select few; no one really cares about what happened at Benghazi; only the “sore loosers“; the Conservatives who; not even with the power of prayer and GOD on their side; could win an election against; in the words of Rush Limbaugh: “the worst President since Jimmy Carter".

Get off of Benghazi. It won't make any difference in 2016.

I believe the GW bridge is a federal highway.

Also during one on the traffic jams a woman died on the way to the hospital. The ambulance was stuck in traffic. Today the family brought suit against the state of New Jersey.

Being fair, I don't know what Obama has do with New Jersey politics.

However, I do believe we have not heard the last of this story about Christie and what really happened.

GREAT President Barack Obama did a fantastic job by hurricane Sandy. All what he has to do with that is, that Christie is a fair guy who told the American people the truth about GREAT President Barack Obama. This right wing fanatics can of course not understand what Christie is talking about. For them GREAT President Barack Obama is the creator of Sandy!

thank you for being fair..I am a democrat but did like Christie..really don't believe he have any knowledge of bridge gate...and of course the president had nothing to do with it...really he would care about shutting down a bridge in Jersey...think he has more important things on his mind...thank you for being on my side!!!

why are you so concerned with what happens in Jersey...you have enough to say about our small little island...if Christie runs in 2016 don't vote for him....

Of course liberals like yourself want to ignore manipulation of information from Clinton, Obama, and left-wing extremists, that will never change.

The amount of coverage this Jersey news story is receiving in comparison to focusing on Unemployment, Fast & Furious, Record Debt, IRS-gate which affected Millions of Americans who were potentially frozen out of political discourse for fear of an IRS audit is appalling.

NEWS FLASH!!!!

Zucker: "GOP being run from Fox News headquarters"!

PASADENA, Calif. (AP) — The chiefs of CNN and Fox News Channel are throwing shots at each other, each suggesting the other's network is essentially out of the news business.

Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes struck first, saying in an interview published this week that it was interesting for CNN "to throw in the towel and announce they're out of the news business." It was a reference to CNN President Jeff Zucker's efforts to expand CNN's offerings beyond breaking news.

"We happen to be in the business, as opposed to some other fair and balanced network," Zucker responded at a news conference on Friday.

He suggested that Ailes' remarks, published in the Hollywood Reporter, were silly and an attempt to deflect attention from "The Loudest Voice in the Room," a book on Ailes and Fox by New York magazine writer Gabriel Sherman that is being published this month.

Zucker said he hadn't read the book, but that from what he heard it confirmed that "the Republican Party is being run out of News Corp. headquarters masquerading as a cable news channel."

Folks Could you see Walter Cronkite waving the flag for any political party while broadcasting the news?.... I think NOT! As a Republican, I'm sick of this!

It's part of the decay of America when you have an owner (Fox News) from England (Rupert Murdoch) dictating one side of American political policy.

What they (Fox News) are doing is no better than having Joseph Goebbels (From Germany) running an American news network.

The news used to be neutral without attacks presenting just the facts. Leaving the listener to make up there own mind on how to interpret the news.

I have been saying this for years! Fox News treats it's viewers like idiots who cant reason between fact and fiction.

Example: Fox News coverage of Chris Christie's new conference. As Christie was speaking the crawl said below "True Leadership"

Really.. he got caught, That's true leadership? It's about the FOX NEWS presentation that some people can't see thru.

Common sense tell you that If Mr. Christie exhibited "True Leadership" He would have to be on TV explaining himself in the first place!

BTW.. This example has nothing to do with Obama and New Jersey politics.

The only reason many of you dump on Obama is because Fox New told you to!

Sit back and think... It's mind control at it's best. Walter Cronkite would not do that to the American people! Please let's all use the brains and reasoning power God gave you!
