To bring game-changing, future-shaping ideas — and the brilliant minds who imagined them — together with an audience comprised of our community’s leaders and learners, is what the Imagine Solutions Conference is all about.
This year’s theme, Ignite Your Mind, is both a challenge and an invitation to experience the power of ideas.
The fourth Imagine Solutions Conference will take place 8:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Feb. 24, at the Ritz-Carlton Tiburon, and everyone who is passionate about making a difference or who simply loves to learn (or both) is invited to attend.
The fee to attend is $600 per person and a catered lunch is included. The Imagine Solutions Conference will be open to 600 paid attendees, plus 150 scholarships to nonprofit leaders.
For more information or to register, visit www.imaginesolutionsconference.com, or call 214-205-2274.
Tyler Mathisen, Emmy Award-winning anchor of CNBC’s “Power Lunch,” will host the very full day of presentations, discussions and interviews featuring 27 world-class speakers in five main sessions. Interaction and collaboration is encouraged, so there will be four breaks to meet the speakers.
From day one, our vision has been to enable exceptional leaders to leverage their capabilities, to more effectively address the critical issues facing our country and our world. Nine major ideas have been implemented locally as a result of collaborations that began at past conferences.”
Since 2010, the conference has brought more than 130 thought leaders from around the world into this unique forum. Thirty-eight CEOs of Fortune 500 corporations with homes in Southwest Florida participate.
The 2014 conference topics range from The Brain Initiative (moderated by “Nova’’ Emmy and Peabody Award winner, Paula Apsell), The Future of Exploration (moderated by National Geographic’s Keith Bellows), and What Can We Learn from History? (moderated by historian Stephen Petranek), to the renowned BBC Africa documentary (presented by BBC History’s Executive Producer Julian Hector), and Revolution in Education — Online Education (moderated by U.S. Undersecretary of Higher Education Ted Mitchell).
The sessions will include a wide array of thought leaders and innovators, among them:
Ann Graybiel, National Medal of Science winner and chief scientist at the McGovern Institute, MIT.
Kenny Broad, Explorer of the Year, National Geographic Society
Miyoung Chun, chair of the conference that created the Brain Initiative concept. Andrew Ng co-founder of Coursera, the recognized leader in online education that partners with the top universities and organizations in the world to offer free courses online, available to everyone.
Richard Brookhiser, senior editor, National Review and National Humanities medalist.
Karen Cater, director, Office of Educational Technology, U.S. Department of Education.
Tony Horwitz, winner of the Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting.
Stephanie McCurry, winner of the Pulitzer Prize for History.
Also, throughout the day, three amazing young people who are well on their way to becoming the next generation of leaders will speak:
Talia Leman, founder of Random Kids — at age 10 raised $10 million for children impacted by Hurricane Katrina.
Jack Andraka — at age 14 won the Intel International Science Prize and holds four patents; at age 15, featured on CBS “60 Minutes.”
Llewelyn Sanchez-Werner — at age 12 was the youngest person ever admitted to the Juilliard School.
Among the national organizations, leading foundations and major media who partner with the Imagine Solutions Conference are the Julliard School, MIT, CBS “60 Minutes,” Nova, National Geographic Society and the BBC.
The Imagine Solutions Conference had its beginnings in 2007, when a founding group of Naples executives aspired to provide a forum for ideas on the country’s East Coast, much like TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) and The Aspen Institute offer the West Coast.
For one day each year, Naples becomes the epicenter for the biggest ideas influencing America and the world. It is an exciting, inspiring day unlike anything you’ve ever experienced, and an opportunity to become part of the solution.
