Marco Presbyterian Church hosted Daughter Dinner

Approximately sixty women were treated to a candlelight dinner, at Marco Presbyterian Church’s third annual Daughter Dinner. Soft romantic music, tables festooned with linen, lace, candles, and shell centerpieces, punch, a backdrop of shells projected on the front screen, and the new senior pastor decked out in a tuxedo greeted the women as they arrived. Pastor Ron Biel has announced his retirement and will deliver his farewell sermon at Marco Lutheran Church this Sunday, in services at 8 and 11 a.m. He has served the congregation, located at 525 N. Collier Blvd., since October 1996. He will officiate in the celebration of Holy Communion at both services this Sunday. Full story »

Marco Presbyterian installs new pastor

The Suncoast Presbytery will officially install the Rev. Bill Lyle, as pastor of Marco Presbyterian Church, at the 6 p.m. worship service Sunday. Lyle became the senior pastor March 1, joining assistant pastor, the Rev. Jonathan M. Loerop, former senior pastor, the Rev. Dr. Bruce R. Fiol, known for his stirring Easter Sunrise Service messages, retired after 25 years of service. Full story »

The Marco Presbyterian Church once again invites everyone on the Island and mainland Naples to join them in celebrating the 20th Annual Easter Sunrise Service on the Beach at 7 a.m. this Sunday, March 23 at the Marco Island Marriott Resort & Spa, and Mike Seigfried, Marco Presbyterian Church Administrator, said that smiling member volunteers will be delivering flyers to Island businesses the days before to remind people to bring their own blanket or chair. “Journey to the Cross” open to all faiths on Good Friday

Linda Johnson, associate seasonal pastor at Wesley United Methodist Church has instituted “Journey to the Cross” which, for the second year, will be held on Good Friday, from 3 to 7 p.m. This is an experiential, hands-on opportunity that, according to organizers, will allow attendees to experience Jesus’ final hours.
