How seriously do you take the ‘going green’ movement?

"We have been recycling for a long time. As far as alternative fuels go, we need to explore all that so long as we get the government’s backing otherwise it’s just going to fall apart. It’s going to be hard shifting from the commitments our government has to Big Oil. It’s going to be hard-pressing to get the alternative fuel measures through because of all the lobbyists. They are keeping us dependent on oil so they can keep their big money machine working. We’ve had the technology for electric and hydrogen cars for 10 years, but the people are being told it’s still experimental when I think it’s just being suppressed."

"I think it’s good for all of us to recycle, and it would be great if cars have more options for using less gas. If we could all help a little bit (in the green initiative), a little could go a long way. As far as global warming goes, I’m not so sure, because the world has been changing forever. So I don’t know whether that’s the problem. But going green doesn’t take such a huge effort. It takes the same time to throw a plastic container in a recycling bin as it does to throw it in the trash. We could all be a little more responsible. "

"We (Salon Botanica and Spa) have been green for quite a while, since we opened four years ago. Recycling is good. The more recyclable things you can use as a business, the better. What’s going down the drain is also important for our waterways. Everybody should be doing something. We heat our pool with solar energy. At some point in time, we’re not going to have alternatives to the energy crisis; we’re going to have to do something because we’re either going to be out priced or it’s going to be gone. The wind is also always going to be there for wind energy."
