What’s it like moving on to middle school from elementary school?

"In middle school we get to switch classes, and in elementary school we sat in class with one teacher. It’s OK being new and at the bottom again. We haven’t had much homework yet. My favorite part is switching classes, and the gym is nice because it’s better for sports. "

"I like it better here because there’s lockers, and switching classes is better than staying in one class all day. I think the work will be a bit tougher. My favorite subject is reading, and I’m enjoying doing science (with “Dr. A”). He’s really funny. I don’t mind being a junior at the school."

"There’s a lot more freedom. You have lockers, different classes, and you have to run around getting different stuff for each class. So, there’s a lot more excitement than elementary school. We haven’t done too much work yet. I like the teachers, and I like the fact that I can do band this year. I’m playing the trombone."
