What’s on your schedule for July 4?
Craig Wingate, Area resident
"Usually our family gets together, and we have a barbecue cookout on the day. It’s a day off for relaxation. We do a few small fireworks, and I usually go and watch a fireworks show. It’s also our Independence day, but I believe lately that the significance has become a little blurred. Today’s society has forgotten about what we earned."
Mindy Matusiak, Area resident
"I’m going to the July 4 parade on Fifth Avenue in Naples, and then we’re heading out to the beach where we’ll be all day. We’ll barbecue, have a picnic and then watch the fireworks show after that. My dad was in the military, so the significance of the day carries on."
John Roche, Resident
"I don’t really know what our plans are yet, but we usually celebrate holidays. Our cousins come over. We usually light some fireworks, and then go on a boat to watch the fireworks at the beach. It’s cool from a boat. The day celebrates our freedom, and I’ll think about that too."
