"I believe the city could do it by giving some credit to the residents. LCEC is a good company, but if there were Marco owners and residents, there could be residuals and equity ownership. If they could keep the costs down, it could be a good thing."

"The city of Marco shouldn’t take it over, because they’ll raise our rates. We pay enough right now as it is. LCEC will be the cheaper one. We paid enough taxes after we took over the water, and if the city takes it (an electric company) over, we will pay more. All this construction has cost them more than they thought."
