What were your emotions at the Marco Memorial Day Ceremony?

Jim Gibson, Resident
"It’s a moment to reflect on our heritage and all the people who’ve served, and have gone before us. We try to come every year. I was in the military in the 1960s, and in the Reserves for four years. It was nice to see a lot of people (at the ceremony). I think a lot of people are thinking about Iraq, and the people who are serving there."

"I’m out here because I was a part of WWII, and I have a deep respect for veterans everywhere. I think it’s appropriate to memorialize this day. I come out ever year. It was a grand showing (on Monday) I think it’s too early to judge the current conflict. "

"I come every year, because my father and brother were both in (the) war, and both have passed, so it’s emotional for me to come out and honor them. Just being here makes you feel good, your skin tingle, and it makes you proud."
