How have your FCAT tests gone so far?
Katie Sanford, 8th Grade Student
"It’s been going good. Some of the questions have been a little harder than the others in both math and reading. In math we’ve been practicing with FCAT books. My toughest question was extended responses in math, which have three parts, A, B, and C, and you have to write out the problems. I think I got it right, though. I usually finish 10 or 15 minutes early and then I start checking it over."
Cullen Walthour, 7th Grade Student
"Well, it’s over, and it was very easy for me, both reading and math. Reading was probably the easiest for me because I enjoy reading a lot and excel in it. The only surprises were probably in the math, where we didn’t have extended and short responses for 7th grade. We were expecting short responses, and we got multiple choice and graded responses."
Catherine Remaks, 7th Grade
"It’s been going pretty well, but the hardest part was probably the math with some tough questions that I couldn’t remember. But I ended up doing OK. I kept checking my work, and in the end I found the answers. The reading was basically comprehension. There weren’t really any surprises there, because we’ve been getting the same questions in reading that we would expect in FCAT."
