Deputies with the Lee County Sheriff's Office are at risk during routine traffic stops when speeding vehicles pass by within feet of their bodies. Florida law requires vehicles to move over to another lane or to slow down when passing a law enforcement or emergency vehicle that is parked along the side of the road with its lights flashing.
