The city of Naples and Collier County deposited nearly 480 tons of dead fish in the landfill east of County Road 951 during the past four weeks. The fish have been picked through by birds around the site and covered with dirt. Conditions have improved since the weekend, although fisherman report not getting any bites near shore and water is unusually brown in some parts and green in others.
