Governor Jeb Bush discusses issues concerning the health of Lake Okeechobee on Monday morning, October 10, 2005, with officials and people from various state agencies. The governor unveiled a $200 million recovery plan to restore Lake Okeechobee and coastal estuaries. Under the four-year comprehensive plan, the state will expand water storage areas, build treatment marshes and accelerate environmental initiatives to improve the health of the lake and the downstream estuaries.
