Natalie Murillo of North Naples, a pediatric cancer patient at the Children’s Hospital in Fort Myers, has become quiet adept at maneuvering her IV-drip cart around the seashore-themed halls of the Oncology Unit. With walls painted to give the children the feel of being part of a gentle ocean tide, the motif continues inside the patients’ rooms, with beds seeming to rest on the beach just above the softly eddying ocean waves that carry past the doors. Even the ceiling tiles have delicately etched fish carved into them, adding to the child-friendly atmosphere of the ward.
